From pet bather to founder of a thriving continuing education platform, Mary Oquendo is an industry expert who has experienced the ins and outs of building a career in the pet industry.

In 2006, after seeing a lack of specialized safety training in the pet industry, Mary launched her first live workshops. But after 5 years she realized she was getting all of her education online and outside of the pet industry because she spend her time at expos teaching classes.

The pet industry didn’t offer any live online training at the time, but she still wanted to be able to connect with her audience. So in 2011, she decided to take matters into her own hand and started Pawsitive Educational Training to serve pet professionals who were also looking to enhance their careers but unable to make it to all the in-person training they would need.

Since creating her online platform, she’s written 2 books, launched 2 podcasts, founded an online continuing education platform for pet professionals, and became a widely requested and peer recognized speaker for national pet conferences!
