Evthoxia Moustakas

My name is Evthoxia Moustakas and I have been a mobile groomer for about ten years. I studied Animal Science in high school, and as all of us, I always wanted a career working with animals. I had put that dream on hold while I went to “Human College,” earning my Bachelor’s of English geared towards Secondary Education. I taught for a few years as a para professional and also worked in restaurants before deciding to go back to school so that I could pursue a career as an Animal Professional.

I enrolled in Animal Behavior College and quickly took to it. While in their grooming program I attended my first grooming expo and took advantage of all the classes I was able to, and have done so every year since.

I have two dogs, Hermes my Shiba Inu and Eros, my Cavachon. I live with my fiancé and our son, who is showing an interest in dog handling, just like his mom.

I am a firm believer of making the most out of any situation, and any situation, good or bad, is a learning opportunity that can help one be the best they can be, whether in their personal or professional life. I have taken things that I have learned in my years of working in restaurants, education, etc and have applied them to my professional grooming career.

There’s no “right” way to be a professional pet groomer, but there are a “million wrong ways.” Using each and every day as a teaching moment, with self reflection, is the key to success.
