FUR vs HAIR: The Foundation of Understanding Coat Type with Jennifer Bishop Jenkins
a
The critical decisions we make about a dog’s grooming should be based on understanding the diverse and unique genetics of how that dog’s coat grows. Jennifer has helped transform the grooming industry by listing 15 grooming coat types in 9 categories. But they all start with the most important question – is this dog Fur or Hair? Knowing these two genetic categories, and being able to recognize which one any given dog falls into, determines what is most important to know about how to groom that dog. This seminar will equip you with all you need to know about the importance of recognizing the differences and deciding how the groom must be done appropriate to that dog’s natural genetic programming.

Skin Assessment And Tailoring Product with Michelle Knowles
a
Many of us have trouble deciding what products to use because we don’t really know what we are looking at skinwise. This course will define terms like crust, flake, dry, etc. so that each condition can be matched with a therapeutic regimen. Pictoral and video segments will help define what is on the skin so we can better establish a baseline therapy for the individual pet.
a
The second hour will build on the previous assessment course and help you match products and ingredients to each of the conditions that are being discussed. This will cover different types of masks, cleansing options and hydration theory.
